What Happened in The Beginning
God gave a command and a process began. It was out this process the universe came out. Therefore, God is the fundamental creator of the universe
What was the process that took place
It started as a period of inflation that began about 13.8 billion years ago. It was like a rapid expanding balloon, it swelled from a size smaller than an electron to nearly it's current size within a tiny fraction of a second. (Brief Big Bang theory)
This resulted in a huge clouds of dust, ice and gases. This introduce us to

how it all started so if I may ask what caused the inflation to take place?
